Andrea Garnero


Andrea Garnero, born in Cuneo in 1986, is currently a labour market economist at the Directorate for Employment, Labour and Social Affairs of the OECD in Paris. He is also a research fellow at the Université libre de Bruxelles and a research affiliate at the IZA Institute in Bonn. He works in particular on minimum wages and collective bargaining in OECD countries and is one of the authors of OECD Employment Outlook. He has published his academic studies in several international journals, and together with Simona Milio he edited the book "L'Unione divisa. Convergere per crescere insieme in Europa", printed by Mulino. Andrea obtained a PhD in labour economics at the Ecole Normale Supérieure, Paris School of Economics and Université libre de Bruxelles in January 2015. Previously he worked as assistant for economic affairs and G20 assistant Sherpa to the Italian Prime Minister and as an economist at the European Commission (DG of Employment and Social Affairs). He belongs to the think tank «Lo Spazio della Politica» and writes occasionally for «», «Limes» and «il Foglio».
