Kyriakos Tsakopoulos Professor of Political Theory at Columbia University, she is a political theorist specialising in liberal and democratic theory, representation and anti-democratic traditions. She has been a member of the Institute for Advanced Study (Princeton) and co-editor with Andrew Arato of the academic journal “Constellations: An International Journal of Critical and Democratic Theory”. She was the winner of the Lenfest/Columbia Distinguished Faculty Award 2008-2009. In 2008 the President of the Italian Republic awarded her the title of Commendatore della Repubblica “for her contribution to the study of democracy and the diffusion of Italian liberal and democratic thought abroad”.
